Estudia periodismo y trabaja en dos publicaciones del movimiento, pero una condena por un delito pol\u00edtico le obliga a empezar de nuevo en 1965. A continuaci\u00f3n trabaja en algunas revistas pensadas para nuevos p\u00fablicos. Se dedica  al an\u00e1lisis de la informaci\u00f3n internacional (siglo20, tele\/expres) y evoluciona, seg\u00fan lo permite el incierto ambiente pol\u00edtico del tardofranquismo, hacia la columna y el comentario pol\u00edtico (triunfo, arreu, mundo diario), el espacio period\u00edstico en el que se instalar\u00e1 durante la transici\u00f3n (la calle, el peri\u00f3dico).   el instrumento fundamental de esta deriva profesional es el humor (hogares modernos, triunfo, por favor, intervi\u00fa), el reportaje sociol\u00f3gico (triunfo) y el dominio de la ficci\u00f3n, los recursos con los que v\u00e1zquez montalb\u00e1n trabaja durante los primeros 70, cuando opina en boca de personajes y seud\u00f3nimos inventados hasta que finalmente puede hacerlo por s\u00ed mismo, una vez derogada la ley de prensa de 1966.    en esta etapa se configura como columnista. Vive el periodismo con plenitud: pasa la jornada en las redacciones, participa de los problemas y las tensiones propias de la profesi\u00f3n e incluso dirige algunas revistas. A partir de 1979, al ganar el premio planeta, reduce la dedicaci\u00f3n al periodismo para dejar espacio  a la narrativa de ficci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis
