Para conocer con m\u00e1s detalle los mecanismos de defensa para el control de este tipo de agentes pat\u00f3genos, se ha estudiado la importancia de otros componentes moleculares de arabidopsis thaliana a\u00fan por caracterizar. Se ha demostrado que la pared celular secundaria de a. Thaliana no es s\u00f3lo una barrera defensiva estructural, sino que tambi\u00e9n es un componente importante de la se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n en las respuestas de defensa. As\u00ed, la resistencia de amplio espectro de los mutantes de las celulosa sintasas (cesas) de la pared celular secundaria irx1 e irx5 ( irx, irregular xylem; hern\u00e1ndez-blanco et al., 2007), se debe parcialmente a un alto contenido de p\u00e9ptidos antimicrobianos, como ltp3, ltp4 y tioninas, y de derivados del tript\u00f3fano, tal y como se demostr\u00f3 mediante los an\u00e1lisis gen\u00e9tico, transcript\u00f3mico y metabol\u00f3mico de dicho mutante. Algunos de estos compuestos (3-metilaminoindol, 4-metoxi-3-metilaminoindol) presentan actividad antimicrobiana in vitro frente a pat\u00f3genos necrotrofos lo que manifiesta su papel en defensa. Adem\u00e1s, el an\u00e1lisis de la susceptibilidad de mutantes de s\u00edntesis ( cyp79b2 cyp79b3), de activaci\u00f3n ( pen2, cyp81f2, pad2) y de transporte ( pen3) de los compuestos derivados del tript\u00f3fano a los aislados de p. Cucumerina incapaces de infectar al ecotipo silvestre demostr\u00f3 la relevancia de los compuestos derivados del tript\u00f3fano en la respuesta no-hu\u00e9sped de a. Thaliana a hongos necrotrofos. Por otro lado, la resistencia mediada por irx es independiente de las rutas del etileno (et), \u00e1cido salic\u00edlico (sa) y \u00e1cido jasmonic (ja); sin embargo, parece depender de la se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n mediada por el \u00e1cido absc\u00edsico (aba), debido a un mayor contenido constitutivo de dicha hormona en los mutantes irx. Por ello, se analiz\u00f3 la funci\u00f3n del aba en la resistencia de la planta a necrotrofos, utilizando herramientas gen\u00e9ticas y transcriptomicas. Los mutantes de s\u00edntesis ( aba1, aba2 y aba3) y de se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n ( abi1) del aba presentan una mayor resistencia a p. Cucumerina que se explica por una expresi\u00f3n constitutiva de genes de defensa, puesto que existe un alto solapamiento entre el patr\u00f3n de expresi\u00f3n del mutante aba1 y el de la infecci\u00f3n con el pat\u00f3geno en plantas silvestres. El an\u00e1lisis transcript\u00f3mico tambi\u00e9n evidenci\u00f3 la existencia de interacciones entre la ruta mediada por aba y otras rutas de se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n de defensa, y permiti\u00f3 la identificaci\u00f3n de los grupos de genes esenciales para la resistencia como lo demuestra el an\u00e1lisis gen\u00e9tico.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
