Ademas, permite detectar la actividad de inhibidores de la angiogenesis, por lo que podria ser utilizado en la busqueda de nuevos inhibidores del proceso angiogenico.  por otra parte, se ha demostrado que los medios condicionados por distintos tipos de celulas tumorales modifican la expresion de integrinas en celulas endoteliales; las modificaciones se centran en las subunidades x2, xv, b1 y b3. Anticuerpos que reconocen dichas subunidades, potencian la invasion de las celulas endoteliales, y aumentan la produccion de metaloproteasas en las mismas celulas, lo que indica que las integrinas mencionadas desempe\u00f1an funciones importantes en la angiogenesis.
