La presencia de una membrana que separa el citoplasma del nucleoplasma ha determinado el desarrollo de mecanismos de transporte a trav\u00e9s de esta envoltura nuclear. Dicho transporte se lleva a cabo a trav\u00e9s de los poros nucleares, complejos macromoleculares que atraviesan la envoltura nuclear y que est\u00e1n formados por prote\u00ednas denominadas nucleoporinas. Los mrnas se encuentran entre las mol\u00e9culas que se exportan de mayor importancia y lo hacen unidos a un conjunto de prote\u00ednas que facilitan su procesamiento y exportaci\u00f3n. Existen un buen n\u00famero de complejos proteicos que articulan el buen desarrollo de estos procesos y que cubren desde el inicio de la transcripci\u00f3n hasta los \u00faltimos estadios de la elongaci\u00f3n.  Cada vez surgen m\u00e1s evidencias del acoplamiento que se produce entre los distintos estadios de la biog\u00e9nesis del mrna y su exporte. En este sentido, el factor de exportaci\u00f3n sus1 juega un papel clave en este proceso ya que forma parte del coactivador transcripcional saga y el complejo asociado al poro nuclear trex2 que participa junto con mex67p, en la correcta exportaci\u00f3n de los mrnas del n\u00facleo al citoplasma celular. Los datos presentados en esta tesis demuestran que sus1, junto con ubp8, sgf11 y sgf73, forman un subm\u00f3dulo en saga implicado en la desubicuitinaci\u00f3n de la histona h2b. Adem\u00e1s, sus1 participa tambi\u00e9n en la elongaci\u00f3n transcripcional, se recluta a la regi\u00f3n codificante de los genes e interacciona con los factores de exportaci\u00f3n yra1p y mex67p.
