Se ha intentado relacionar los procesos de densificacion con la temperatura de sinterizacion, cantidad y composicion quimica de la fase liquida, asi como con la descomposicion del nitruro de silicio y la silice.  se ha estudiado tambien la dependencia de la transformacion alfa-beta, que tiene lugar durante la sinterizacion, con los contenidos de itria y silice, llegandose a establecer las condiciones para un control independiente de los procesos de transformacion y densificacion. Mediante la caracterizacion microestructural se ha buscado interpretar dichos procesos en funcion de las fases presentes, tama\u00f1o y morfolog\u00eda de los granos y tipo y cantidad de fase intergranular.  se ha analizado la relacion existente entre las propiedades mecanicas, la temperatura y la composicion, cantidad y grado de cristalinidad de la fase
