Adem\u00e1s es un pat\u00f3geno humano emergente que puede causar distintas enfermedades como gastroenteritis y septicemias fulminantes.  en esta tesis se consigui\u00f3 aislar una cepa de a. Hydrophila a partir de un inusual brote de mortalidades en un cultivo de peces cebra y en esta cepa se han caracterizado distintos factores de virulencia. Usando al pez cebra como modelo se realiz\u00f3 un estudio de la patolog\u00eda de la septicemia causada por esta cepa de a. Hydrophila donde se han utilizado varias t\u00e9cnicas, como biolog\u00eda molecular para estudiar la expresi\u00f3n de algunos genes relacionados con la respuesta inflamatoria, una sustracci\u00f3n de librer\u00edas para determinar genes que se expresaron exclusivamente en peces infectados con a. Hydrophila y estudios de algunas funciones de la respuesta inmune innata del pez. Adem\u00e1s se ha comprobado si el uso de inmunoestimulantes pod\u00eda incrementar la respuesta inmune del pez cebra frente a la infecci\u00f3n con a.
