Aeruginosa (pa) el sistema m\u00e1s frecuentemente implicado es el \u00abmismatch repair system\u00bb (mmr). Se ha demostrado que la hipermutaci\u00f3n acelera el desarrollo de resistencia antibi\u00f3tica, sin embargo, la relaci\u00f3n entre hipermutaci\u00f3n y virulencia e hipermutaci\u00f3n y persistencia no han sido claramente demostradas. Con el fin de estudiar m\u00e1s profundamente estas posibles asociaciones y esclarecer los motivos por los que las cepas hipermutadoras son tan prevalentes en las infecciones cr\u00f3nicas nos planteamos determinar el efecto de la hipermutaci\u00f3n sobre la virulencia y adaptaci\u00f3n. La inactivaci\u00f3n del sistema mmr, en pa reduce la virulencia en las infecciones agudas, reduce el fitness, tanto in vitro como in vivo, disminuyendo, por tanto, la transmisibilidad y disminuye el potencial de colonizaci\u00f3n orofar\u00edngea inicial, pero por otra parte favorece la persistencia a largo plazo de la colonizaci\u00f3n orofar\u00edngea en la fq.
