Sus principales aplicaciones se enfocan a las \u00e1reas de adsorci\u00f3n-separaci\u00f3n, cat\u00e1lisis y formaci\u00f3n de nuevos materiales. En este estudio se sintetiz\u00f3 el material mesoporoso ordenado denominado sba-15 para usarlo como soporte de \u00f3xidos de manganeso y platino, adem\u00e1s de estudiar su estructuraci\u00f3n sobre monolitos met\u00e1licos (fecralloy). Para su estructuraci\u00f3n se estudi\u00f3 el dep\u00f3sito por inmersi\u00f3n de la sba-15 y de los catalizadores de mn y pt soportados sobre sba-15, junto con el crecimiento in situ de la sba-15 sobre los monolitos met\u00e1licos introducidos en el medio de s\u00edntesis.  la sba-15 se sintetiz\u00f3 siguiendo el m\u00e9todo reportado en la bibliograf\u00eda, empleando como agente director de la estructura pluronics p123 y como precursor de silicio tetraetil ortosilicato (teos). Los catalizadores se caracterizaron por adsorci\u00f3n de nitr\u00f3geno, ftir, drxs, sem y tem.
