Se caracteriza por alteraciones del metabolismo mineral, una excesiva s\u00edntesis y secreci\u00f3n de parathormona (pth) e hiperplasia paratiroidea, que se acompa\u00f1a de un descenso en los niveles de los receptores propios de las c\u00e9lulas paratiroideas (receptor de vitamina d, vdr y de calcio, rca). El manejo terap\u00e9utico del hpt2\u00c2\u00ba incluye medidas destinadas a controlar la hiperfosfatemia, la secreci\u00f3n de pth y restaurar los niveles org\u00e1nicos de vitamina d y de ca. Recientemente se han desarrollado unos nuevos f\u00e1rmacos, los calcimim\u00e9ticos (cm), agonistas del rca que act\u00faan como activadores alost\u00e9ricos del mismo, contribuyendo a controlar la secreci\u00f3n de pth. el objetivo del trabajo de tesis fue evaluar el efecto del cm nps r-568 sobre la secreci\u00f3n de pth y la expresi\u00f3n g\u00e9nica de vdr in vitro e in vivo, en condiciones fisiol\u00f3gicas (gl\u00e1ndulas paratiroides intactas de rata y ratas normales) y patol\u00f3gicas (gl\u00e1ndulas hiperpl\u00e1sicas procedentes de enfermos paratiroidectomizados y ratas ur\u00e9micas). los resultados obtenidos permitieron comprobar la efectividad del cm como agente supresor de la secreci\u00f3n de pth, si bien en el hpt2\u00c2\u00ba su actividad est\u00e1 condicionada por la severidad de la enfermedad.
