Por un lado, identificar los materiales y t\u00e9cnica de la pintura de una \u00e9poca y por lo tanto el know-how de un per\u00edodo hist\u00f3rico. Por otra parte, estudiar la degradaci\u00f3n y el envejecimiento de estos materiales con el fin de evitar su desaparici\u00f3n. Al mismo tiempo, se pretende tambi\u00e9n elegir y aplicar los materiales m\u00e1s adequados en los procesos de restauraci\u00f3n y conservaci\u00f3n, as\u00ed como las mejores condiciones de exposici\u00f3n. desde un punto de vista f\u00edsico-qu\u00edmico, las pinturas son matrices complejas formadas por capas de una mezcla heterog\u00e9nea de materiales org\u00e1nicos e inorg\u00e1nicos, mezclados en proporciones desconocidas y dispuestos en capas microm\u00e9tricas. Adem\u00e1s, estos materiales experimentan interacciones entre ellos y un heterog\u00e9neo envejecimiento con el tiempo y a exposici\u00f3n a contaminantes, luz y condiciones de conservaci\u00f3n, tales como humedad y temperatura. Como resultado, las pinturas no son objetos est\u00e1ticos, sino sistemas complejos que constituyen una problem\u00e1tica dif\u00edcil para el qu\u00edmico anal\u00edtico. La naturaleza de las pinturas requiere, adem\u00e1s, de un enfoque de cartograf\u00eda 2d con el fin de poder, no s\u00f3lo caracterizar e identificar los materiales presentes, sino tambi\u00e9n para obtener su distribuci\u00f3n en la muestra. el objetivo general de esta tesis es el de rellenar algunas lagunas en el an\u00e1lisis y la caracterizaci\u00f3n de los sistemas pict\u00f3ricos. Completar el conocimiento parcial obtenido anteriormente es el hilo conductor, aunque cada cap\u00edtulo tiene una entidad propia. Con este finalidad se siguieron diferentes caminos contempor\u00e1neamente: el desarrollo de m\u00e9todos de preparaci\u00f3n de muestras y los procedimientos anal\u00edticos para el estudio de las muestras de pintura, y la caracterizaci\u00f3n de la composici\u00f3n de los materiales y de sus procesos de degradaci\u00f3n mediante la aplicaci\u00f3n de las metodolog\u00edas anal\u00edticas desarrolladas. Los diferentes cap\u00edtulos tratan las siguientes problem\u00e1ticas: synchrotron radiation based micro imaging ftir to the study of painting cross-sections, characterisation and distribution of oxalates in mural painting samples, ms and sr based techniques for the identification and distribution of painting materials in samples from works of art, gc\/ms characterisation of saccharide materials in samples from works-of-art y gc\/ms analytical procedure for the characterization of lipids, terpenoidresins, polysaccharide and proteinaceous materials in the presence of interfering inorganic pigments in the same micro sample. la tesis demuestra la capacidad de radiaci\u00f3n sincrotr\u00f3n para la obtenci\u00f3n de im\u00e1genes ftir en modo de transmisi\u00f3n y la capacidad de cromatograf\u00eda de gases\/espectrometr\u00eda de masas para el estudio de los materiales de la pintura y sus productos de degradaci\u00f3n, haciendo especial atenci\u00f3n a los materiales sacar\u00eddicos.
