Historicamente se han sucedido-sin exito- varios intentos de integracion. Dichos intentos han fracasado debido, en buena parte, a que han tratado de alcanzar la integracion por la via de la agregacion de las diversas teorias, o bien se han limitado a ofrecer un nuevo modelo motivacional. Ninguno de los dos caminos ha resultado satisfactorio, puesto que es preciso remitirse a un ambito distinto de las teorias mismas: se exige hallar el sustrato comun a los diferentes modelos. Solo a partir del analisis de las decisiones humanas cabe encontrar los puntos de conexion entre las diferentes teorias. Dicho analisis de la logica interna de las acciones nos permite, como consecuencia: a) establecer una distincion conceptual entre \u00abmotivacion\u00bb y \u00abmotivo\u00bb; b) descubrir una evolucion en la comprension del fenomeno; c) ordenar las teorias de la motivacion laboral segun ese criterio evolutivo; y, d) se\u00f1alar el surgimiento de un nuevo paradigma explicativo, que auna la
