Mccool demostr\u00f3 que los mapping-class groups son finitamente presentables. Hatcher y thurston inventaron un m\u00e9todo geom\u00e9trico para encontrar dichas presentaciones. Este m\u00e9todo fue implementado por varios. Las presentaciones que se encontraron son presentaciones de tipo artin m\u00e1s algunas relaciones. Las relaciones que se debe a\u00f1adir se pueden expresar c\u00f3mo igualdades entre centros de subgrupos de tipo artin.  los mapping-class groups de superficies con una frontera de g\u00e9nero zero se conocen como grupos de trenzas. Los grupos de trenzas han estado muy estudiados. En nuestro trabajo generalizamos a g\u00e9nero \u00e1rbitrario algunos de los resultados conocidos los grupos de trenzas.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
