En muchos casos esta diversidad pone de manifiesto la estructura fractal de la naturaleza y podemos hablar entonces de fen\u00f3menos complejos, en los que eventos de diferentes magnitudes no pueden analizarse de manera independiente.  dicha complejidad emerge como un fen\u00f3meno cooperativo a escalas microsc\u00f3picas, que produce un complejo comportamiento macrosc\u00f3pico caracterizado por correlaciones de largo alcance e invarianza de escala. Aparecen as\u00ed conceptos como leyes de escalado, universalidad y renormalizaci\u00f3n, pilares fundamentales dentro de la f\u00edsica estad\u00edstica. el abanico de fen\u00f3menos complejos es muy amplio, y abarca sistemas de muy diversas disciplinas que van desde la f\u00edsicam\u00e1s ortodoxa hasta la biolog\u00eda, sociolog\u00eda, geolog\u00eda e, incluso, econom\u00eda. Esta tesis se centra en fen\u00f3menos complejos extendidos en el espacio. En concreto hemos focalizado nuestra labor en tres grandes temas que constituyen importantes focos de inter\u00e9s dentro de la mec\u00e1nica estad\u00edstica: crecimiento de interfases,
