<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Esta tesis es un estudio sobre las aspiraciones cognoscitivas de la fotograf\u00eda manifestadas trav\u00e9s de sus aplicaciones en el campo de la ciencia y la pseudo ciencia durante el siglo xix; un acercamiento a la ontolog\u00eda de lo fotogr\u00e1fico a la luz de las teor\u00edas del conocimiento, a trav\u00e9s de un an\u00e1lisis, que se inicia en el renacimiento y se extiende hasta 1900, en el que se otorga una posici\u00f3n central a la fotograf\u00eda de lo invisible y al contexto filos\u00f3fico y cultural en que surgi\u00f3.   se trata, por tanto, de la revisi\u00f3n de una parte de su historia desde una perspectiva epistemol\u00f3gica, destinada a evidenciar como los productos de la c\u00e1mara est\u00e1n imbuidos, desde el germen de su concepci\u00f3n, por un anhelo de trascender m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de lo que nos es dado ver, que le permiti\u00f3 constituirse en un instrumento capaz de generar un nuevo modo de conocimiento, caracterizado por sobrepasar las fronteras fisiol\u00f3gicas impuestas por nuestro equipamiento sensorial, que la ha llevado a convertirse en uno de los sistemas de representaci\u00f3n predominantes
