Asi se ha determinado la presencia de proteasas, hemolisinas, esterasas y acetilcolinesterasa en los productos extracelulares de dichas cepas y se han analizado los lipopolisacaridos y proteinas de membrana totales y externas. Todos estos factores no pueden considerarse por separado como unicos determinantes de virulencia para peces.  en vista a la amplia distribucion de la neurotoxina acetilcolinesterasa entre cepas de diferentes origenes y grados de virulencia y que se describio como un componente que se libera en forma de alto peso molecular, se abordo su purificacion en la forma de alto peso molecular para caracterizarla y poder utilizarla en vacunas contra la septicemia hemorragica bacteriana.  hemos obtenido la toxina purificada como una forma de 45 kda, intermedia entre la forma nativa de 96 kda y la forma activa de 15 kda.
