Esta secuencia responde a los conceptos basicos de estratigrafia secuencial considerando un ciclo eustatico simple en el que los cortejos sedimentarios se correlacionan con un determinado segmento del ultimo hemiciclo eustatico.  la presencia de morfolog\u00edas caracteristicas en las plataformas muestra que la sedimentacion estuvo afectada por estabilizaciones y regresiones de corto periodo del nivel del mar. En este sentido se propone un modelo teorico general de estratigrafia secuencial de muy alta resolucion segun el cual la secuencia principal esta subdividida en subsecuencias menores. Se demuestra que la curva eustatica resultante para el pleistoceno terminal-holoceno no es una simple curva transgresiva, sino una curva compuesta mayoritariamente por tres grupos principales de ciclos: ciclos p (4.500 a\u00f1os), ciclos h (2200\/950), y ciclos c (50\/500 a\u00f1os).  el modelo teorico propuesto posee unos limites geneticos, identificables para cualquier margen continental
