Investigaciones previas, centradas en aspectos considerados can\u00f3nicos de la nueva weltanschauung \u00c2\u00bfcomo la metaficci\u00f3n, la intertextulidad, la hibridaci\u00f3n gen\u00e9rica o los mecanismos de la representaci\u00f3n-, no hab\u00edan prestado la debida atenci\u00f3n cr\u00edtica a este aspecto que, sin embargo, se revela crucial para comprender la novela reciente.  obras de autores como paul auster, w.G. Sebald, kazuo ishiguro, j.M. Coetzee, bernardo atxaga o milan kundera, entre otros, est\u00e1n protagonizadas por individuos que comparten una misma situaci\u00f3n existencial: han perdido su \u00c2\u00bfmundo\u00c2\u00bf, es decir, el orden de sentido y significaci\u00f3n dentro del cual se comprend\u00edan a s\u00ed mismos y eran a su vez comprendidos por los dem\u00e1s. Se trata de personajes desarraigados, sin memoria del pasado ni v\u00ednculos de parentesco o de otra clase en el presente, condenados a errar por espacios siempre ajenos.   la tesis tiene un doble objetivo: por un lado, mostrar la presencia del tema en la literatura postmoderna posterior a 1980 y analizar el modo en que \u00e9ste se manifiesta en las tres \u00c2\u00bfunidades sint\u00e1cticas\u00c2\u00bf de la novela, a saber, el espacio, el tiempo y el sujeto; y, en segundo lugar, investigar la relaci\u00f3n que pueda existir entre este tema literario y el contexto
