Melanogaster. Para este prop\u00f3sito, se han utilizado y desarrollado dos ensayos in vivo: 1) el ensayo de mutaci\u00f3n y recombinaci\u00f3n som\u00e1ticas (smart) en alas de d. Melanogaster; y 2) el ensayo del cometa en hemocitos de drosophila.  los resultados obtenidos con el ensayo smart en alas de d. Melanogaster indican que ninguno de los tres metales muestra una actividad genot\u00f3xica detectable. Sin embargo, al analizar la interacci\u00f3n de estos metales frente al da\u00f1o genot\u00f3xico inducido por la radiaci\u00f3n gamma, se observa que \u00fanicamente los compuestos de n\u00edquel muestran una interacci\u00f3n de tipo sin\u00e9rgica, lo cual indicar\u00eda una interferencia con los mecanismos involucrados en la reparaci\u00f3n. Por otro lado, los resultados obtenidos con el ensayo del cometa en hemocitos aislados de larvas previamente tratadas con metales, muestran un da\u00f1o gen\u00e9tico significativo con el metilmercurio, el nitrato de plomo y el sulfato de n\u00edquel, indicando una mayor sensibilidad de este ensayo en comparaci\u00f3n con el ensayo smart de alas. como conclusi\u00f3n final de este trabajo de tesis doctoral se desprende que la genotoxicidad de los metales pesados evaluados en d.
