Estos procedimientos mantienen la variabilidad genetica y permiten el incremento de la frecuencia de genes deseables y combinaciones genicas por recombinacion de genotipos seleccionados.  el material vegetal utilizado son dos sinteticos de maiz, de amplia base genetica ezs1 (germoplasma espa\u00f1ol) y ezs2 (germoplasma americano) en c0, c1 y c2.  en la poblacion ezs1 las ganancias obtenidas por ciclo para el rendimiento de grano y encamado no han resultado estadisticamente significativas, tras dos ciclos de seleccion intrapoblacional s1.  en la poblacion ezs2 se ha obtenido una respuesta significativa para el encamado que ha ido acompa\u00f1ada de un aumento significativo en el rendimiento. El estudio de la relacion entre parametros geneticos sugiere que ha habido endogamia debida a deriva genetica, y aunque no significativa, limita las posibilidades de seleccion para rendimiento.  la mejora intrapoblacional de estas dos poblaciones ha supuesto una progresiva perdida de eterosis para el rendimiento; esto junto con la no significacion para la aptitud combinatoria, sugiere que no se obtendran hibridos de buenos rendimientos a partir de las posibles lineas puras derivadas de estas poblaciones mejoradas.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
