En este contexto coexiste la disciplina de la conservaci\u00f3n\/restauraci\u00f3n, la cual tendr\u00e1 que aportar e imponer normativas profesionales y criterios \u00e9ticos ante factores que parecen contradecir la l\u00f3gica de una actividad guiada te\u00f3ricamente pero que a veces parece perder aliento ante tan avasalladoras creaciones. \u00c2\u00bfcu\u00e1l es el papel del artista y cu\u00e1les los l\u00edmites de su actividad en la conservaci\u00f3n\/restauraci\u00f3n de su obra?, Es sin duda la cuesti\u00f3n principal sobre la cual la presente investigaci\u00f3n se desarrolla, con el fuerte deseo de encontrar una respuesta concreta. Por ello, ha sido fundamental estudiar los contextos hist\u00f3ricos, sociales y culturales de la disciplina de conservaci\u00f3n\/restauraci\u00f3n, as\u00ed como percibir los cambios en el contexto art\u00edstico y la entidad del artista, agregando un punto innovador y a\u00fan poco desarrollado, pero que se cree esencial para establecer los l\u00edmites, a trav\u00e9s de las normativas legales y la distinta legislaci\u00f3n para cada campo de acci\u00f3n. Con el objetivo de dignificar una profesi\u00f3n y de percibir los cambios generados a lo largo del siglo xx, se pone en evidencia la teor\u00eda de la restauraci\u00f3n, el documento que estableci\u00f3 durante varios a\u00f1os los fundamentos de la actividad de conservaci\u00f3n\/restauraci\u00f3n y a trav\u00e9s del cual se podr\u00e1 tambi\u00e9n orientar la actividad para la
