Cuando los sinaptosomas se incubaron en medios sin hco3 una disminuci\u00f3n del phext de 8 a 6.5 alter\u00f3 tanto eh como em, sin que variase ek. La presencia de hco3 en el medio de incubaci\u00f3n  aboli\u00f3 este efecto de forma concentraci\u00f3n dependiente. Los mismos resultados se obtuvieron con dids o amiloride y en medios de incubi\u00f3n sin na+ o ci. estos resultados nos permiten concluir que ninguno de los mecanismos reguladores del ph descritos hasta la fecha media la variaci\u00f3n de la excitabilidad neuronal que genera una acidificaci\u00f3n del medio externo. Podemos establecer una relaci\u00f3n directa entre eh y em y especulamos sobre la funcionalidad de un trasnportador de membrana intercambiador \u00e1cido\/base (eh\/ehoc3). Los valores de phin que se midieron tras variar el ph externo refuerzan la presencia del transportador eh\/ehco3 que podr\u00eda estar acoplado al transporte de na+.  la variaci\u00f3n directa del ph interno altera tambi\u00e9n, y de forma permanente, la excitabilidad neuronal sin que la presencia de hco3 en el medio tenga una efecto preventivo. Una acidificaci\u00f3n directa del medio intrasinaptosomal hiperpolariza la membrana y disminuye ek, observ\u00e1ndose el efecto contrario sobre ambos par\u00e1metros tras una alcalinizaci\u00f3n. Concluimos que los mecanismos de transporte afectados son diferentes en ambos casos.  los resultados que se presentna en este trabajo refuerzan las teor\u00edas que relacionan la acidificaci\u00f3n externa con protecci\u00f3n celular y la acidificaci\u00f3n interna con lesi\u00f3n y muerte neuronal. As\u00ed mismo se pone de manifiesto que el trabajo de experimentaci\u00f3n en condiciones fisiol\u00f3gicas implica necesariamente la presencia de hco3 en el medio de
