En concreto, la difusi\u00f3n de las lecturas de entretenimiento y las lecturas devotas entre las mujeres de esta centuria. Para ello he revisado la representaci\u00f3n de la mujer en una gran variedad de textos como los tratados de medicina, de filosof\u00eda, teolog\u00eda y finalmente, las obras  literarias para recoger los principales estereotipos de los que dependi\u00f3 el discurso did\u00e1ctico-moral femenino que defini\u00f3 las buenas y las mala lecturas. Tambi\u00e9n me he servido del examen de ep\u00edstolas, cr\u00f3nicas, anotaciones y, excepcionalmente, documentos notariales, que abordaban la cuesti\u00f3n de la lectura femenina, casi siempre desde una \u00f3ptica masculina.  Mi aproximaci\u00f3n a la lectura femenina como una representaci\u00f3n pretende no solamente examinar las circunstancias que determinaban la recepci\u00f3n de ciertas obras en mujeres, cuesti\u00f3n que ya ha sido examinad\u00edsima por la cr\u00edtica, sino la experiencia misma de la lectura femenina en el siglo xvi. La hip\u00f3tesis que propongo es que estas po\u00e9ticas de la lectura en el renacimiento se adhieren a unas corrientes ideol\u00f3gicas articuladas por los humanistas y moralistas, respecto al deber se de la lectura y a su funci\u00f3n social. La lectura como fuente de virtud tiene la capacidad de influir en la subjetividad del lector, sentencia que se lleva hasta las \u00faltimas consecuencias para el caso de la mujer, sin importar la naturaleza del libro que ejerza este dominio. Por ello, la lectura se convierte en un asunto de orden social, pues tienen la capacidad de alterar las instituciones pol\u00edticas y religiosas, y por ello, requiere de una regulaci\u00f3n precisa,
