En esta tesis se estudia las prote\u00ednas modificadoras de trna mnme de escherichia coli y su hom\u00f3loga humana gtpbp3, tanto por su inter\u00e9s en este proceso de modificaci\u00f3n del trna, como por tratarse de gtpasas con propiedades bioqu\u00edmicas peculiares. Se describe el mecanismo de activaci\u00f3n de la hidr\u00f3lisis de gtp por parte de ambas prote\u00ednas. Este mecanismo es dependiente de una dimerizaci\u00f3n por el dominio g que va a ser responsable de activar la hidr\u00f3lisis de gtp. Sin embargo, se demuestra que no es \u00fanicamente este paso el necesario para poder llevar a cabo la funci\u00f3n final de la prote\u00edna, y que se necesita la hidr\u00f3lisis y la disociaci\u00f3n del d\u00edmero de dominio g posterior a \u00e9sta para que la prote\u00edna desarrolle su funci\u00f3n biol\u00f3gica. Adem\u00e1s, gtpbp3 in vitro necesitar\u00eda de alguna prote\u00edna que activase su hidr\u00f3lisis, porque observamos que su tasa hidrol\u00edtica es 100 veces inferior a la de su hom\u00f3loga
