Las vacantes cationicas, que tras la irradiacion quedaron atrapadas en divacantes y cumulos de estas, se liberan a partir de los 500 c por efecto del recocido termico. Los positrones en estas trampas se aniquilan en un tiempo de 500 ps. La seccion eficaz de captura en estos centros para positrones es del orden de 10 elevado a -12 cm2, para una concentracion de vacantes cationicas estimada de 2 por 10 elevado a 16 &#8211; diez elevado
