La esencia del dios suareciano es la posesion necesaria y eminente o virtual de todo lo que puede producir. Para conocer la cantidad de perfeccion del absoluto es preciso determinar la extension de su poder. El ser necesario sera omniperfecto si es omnipotente, si su potencia alcanza a todo lo posible, es decir, a todo lo no-repugnante o que no implica contradiccion. Y sera infinito si la extension de lo no-repugnante es infinita, de tal modo que siempre quepa un ser posible mas perfecto que los demas. El problema es que, reducido el ser a una mera posicion de la esencia fuera de la nada, las demostraciones suarecianas de la omnipotencia y de la infinitud extensiva del poder divino no concluyen. Suarez las da por supuestas a fin de asegurar la infinitud de la perfeccion y de la potencia divinas, una perfeccion y una potencia que le permiten dar fundamento real a un mundo de esencias pensadas
