Su funci\u00f3n fisiol\u00f3gica radica en que regula tanto la fuerza como la duraci\u00f3n del potencial de acci\u00f3n cardiaco. Se sabe ya desde hace hace alg\u00fan tiempo que la ito puede ver regulada su amplitud de corriente mediante receptores 1-adren\u00e9rgicos mediada por pka.Y su velocidad de inactivaci\u00f3n por camkii. Existen datos que sugieren que estos efectos deben de encontrarse compartimentados y en la presente tesis doctoral se ha realizado un estudio de los mecanismos de compartimentaci\u00f3n de la regulaci\u00f3n de la corriente transitoria de salida de potasio cardiaca (ito) mediante receptores 1-adren\u00e9rgicos y por camkii. Existen dos genes que codifican para la subunidad a de los canales responsables de la corriente ito. En funci\u00f3n de la localizaci\u00f3n subcelular de los canales de ito, esta corriente se regular\u00e1 por diferentes mecanismos. si los canales de la ito se localizan en balsas de membrana no caveolares se regular\u00e1n por camkii y ser\u00e1 regulada su velocidad de inactivaci\u00f3n. si los canales se localizan en balsas de membrana caveolares se regular\u00e1n por receptores
