Mas, pese a que su figura ha sido destacada en innumerables ocasiones como motivo fundamental en la recreaci\u00f3n de los prodigios asi\u00e1ticos, apenas existen estudios espec\u00edficos sobre su tratamiento en los textos medievales hisp\u00e1nicos. Desde la difusi\u00f3n de la carta del preste juan alrededor de 1165, la literatura europea incorpora al personaje como parte integrante de su contexto cultural, pudiendo encontrar noticias del h\u00e9roo en textos hist\u00f3ricos, geogr\u00e1ficos o puramente literarios, escritos en lenguas diversas y en per\u00edodos dispares&#8230;..<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la
