Hemos estudiado las caracter\u00edsticas de varios materiales basados en nano-cristales de silico (cristales de silicio de unos pocos nano-metros de tama\u00f1o), especialmente: 1) la interacci\u00f3n de estos nanocristales con erbio ofrece la posibilidad de la consecuci\u00f3n de un amplificador \u00f3ptico o una fuente de luz integrada con emisi\u00f3n en la estrat\u00e9gica ventana espectral utilizada en telecomunicaciones (1.54 micras). Hemos analizado el mecanismo de transferencia de energ\u00eda entre los nanocristales de silicio y los iones de erbio en diferentes vidrios de silicatos. Nuestro estudio revel\u00f3 que las obleas de aluminosilicatos pueden ser la mejor matriz para demostrar un amplificador de erbio integrado en gu\u00eda de onda. 2) los notables efectos \u00f3pticos no lineales (efecto kerr) de estos nanocristales en la dicha ventana a 1.54 micras permiten la implementaci\u00f3n de funciones fot\u00f3nicas avanzadas tales como una puerta l\u00f3gica todo-\u00f3ptica. Hemos realizado un an\u00e1lisis exhaustivo de las propiedades estructurales y \u00f3pticas de diferentes capas finas de nanocristales de silicio incorporados en \u00f3xido (si-nc\/sio2), conel fin de llenar gu\u00edas de onodas de silicio de tipo ranura (verticales o s\u00e1ndwich). Gu\u00edas de tipo ranura s\u00e1ndwich de alta calidad \u00f3ptica han sido fabricadas mediante un proceso est\u00e1ndard de micro-electr\u00f3nica. Adem\u00e1s, hemos fabricado y analizado varios elementos fot\u00f3nicos b\u00e1sicos incluyendo gu\u00edas de onda, divisores, curvas y anillos resonadores. El comportamiento no lineal del sistema si-nc\/sio2 combinado con las bajas p\u00e9rdidas de propagaci\u00f3n en las gu\u00edas de onda tipo ranura s\u00e1ndwich se han usado para demostrar un switch \u00f3ptico basada en un anillo resonador.  the ability of silicon nanoclusters (silicon of few nm size) based materials, especially, i) to act as efficient sensitizers to erbium ions and ii) to instantly respond to ultrafast pulsed lasers excitations through a large nonlinear optical kerr effect, have been explored for integrated \u00c2\u00b5-photonics applications in the c-band window (\u00c2\u00bf=1550 nm). Towards an integrated erbium doped waveguide amplifier for the former, and an integrated ultrafast all-optical logic gate for the latter. We analyzed the energy transfer mechanism from silicon nanoclusters to erbium ions in different silicates glasses, whereby we revealed that aluminosilicate wafers may be the best choice to demostrate an erbium doped waveguide amplifier. On the other hand, we performed an exhaustive structural and optical analysis of different silicon nanoclusters embedded in silicon oxide (si-nc\/sio2) layers, aimed to fill vertical and sandwich silicon slot waveguides. A good quality sandwich slot waveguides have been fabricated in a standard \u00c2\u00b5-electronics facility. Several building blocks including straifht waveguides, splitters, bends and ring resonators have been fabricated and analyzed. The nonlinear effects of the si-nc\/sio2 system and the low propagation losses in the fabricated sandwich slot waveguides have been combined in a ring resonator device for the demostration of a
