Pedro yustos cuesta  \ten este trabajo se ha estudiado la oxidaci\u00f3n h\u00fameda catal\u00edtica de fenol y fenoles sustituidos (orto y para cresol y orto y para-nitrofenol), mediante un carb\u00f3n activo comercial, empleando un reactor de lecho fijo con flujo ascendente concurrente de las fases gas y l\u00edquido. Se han obtenido las rutas de oxidaci\u00f3n de cada contaminante tanto en medio \u00e1cido como en b\u00e1sico. Tambi\u00e9n se ha propuesto y validado un m odelo cin\u00e9tico simplificado para describir la evoluci\u00f3n del contenido en carbono org\u00e1nico total y la toxicidad en funci\u00f3n de las variables de operaci\u00f3n. \tadem\u00e1s se ha estudiado el empleo del reactivo fenton en la oxidaci\u00f3n de fenol y fenoles sustitui dos en un reactor discontinuo de mezcla completa de 1l, isotermo, con medida en continuo del ph y del potencial de orp. Los resultados obtenidos en la oxidaci\u00f3n de fenol mediante reactivo fenton han permitido proponer y validar un modelo cin\u00e9tico sim plificado para describir la evoluci\u00f3n del toc y de la toxicidad en funci\u00f3n de las variables de operaci\u00f3n. \tpor ultimo se ha estudiado la combinaci\u00f3n de ambos tratamientos para seleccionar las condiciones que optimicen el proceso. Se han propuesto mod elos cin\u00e9ticos simplificados que permiten predecir la evoluci\u00f3n de la toxicidad y el grado de mineralizaci\u00f3n alcanzados en el lecho fijo durante la oxidaci\u00f3n
