En primer lugar, este trabajo se ha centrado en el aislamiento, caracterizaci\u00f3n y purificaci\u00f3n de un nuevo pol\u00edmero capsular, conocido como \u00e1cido col\u00e1nico, que esta bacteria produce principalmente cuando crece a temperaturas restrictivas (inferiores a 25\u00c2\u00bac). Una vez identificados ambos polisac\u00e1ridos capsulares, hemos tratado de averiguar la influencia de la temperatura de crecimiento sobre la expresi\u00f3n de varios genes implicados en la bios\u00edntesis de ambos tipos de c\u00e1psulas y en la regulaci\u00f3n de pol\u00edmeros capsulares en e. Coli. En base a estos \u00faltimos resultados, la obtenci\u00f3n de mutantes por deleci\u00f3n de varios genes reguladores, tales como rcsa, rcsb y rfah, nos ha permitido establecer el papel de dichos genes sobre la termorregulaci\u00f3n que rige la bios\u00edntesis de las c\u00e1psulas de \u00e1cido col\u00e1nico y\/o \u00e1cido polisi\u00e1lico en e. Coli k92. Finalmente, dado que las c\u00e1psulas de \u00e1cido col\u00e1nico son sintetizadas bajo dichas condiciones restrictivas, nuestros estudios se han centrado en tratar de averiguar el papel fisiol\u00f3gico de este tipo de c\u00e1psulas en e. Coli k92, para lo que se realizaron experimentos de adhesi\u00f3n bacteriana y formaci\u00f3n de biofilms, as\u00ed como de resistencia a antibi\u00f3ticos y a determinadas condiciones estresantes
