Canarias al igual que en el resto del territorio espa\u00f1ol nos encontramos en una zona de riesgo medio-alto de preValencia. Existe una hip\u00f3tesis que sugiere que la dieta en la em puede modificar el curso de la enfermedad. objetivos: conocer los h\u00e1bitos alimentarios de una muestra de pacientes con em  en relaci\u00f3n a los h\u00e1bitos alimentarios de la poblaci\u00f3n canaria en general y su relaci\u00f3n con la presencia de em y con la evoluci\u00f3n de la enfermedad. material y m\u00e9todos: estudio casos-control, utilizando una muestra (n=400) de sujetos sanos y una muestra (n=100) constitu\u00edda por pacientes canarios diagnosticados de em seg\u00fan criterios de poser. Se realiz\u00f3 un cuestionario de frecuencia de consumo (cfca) con 81 alimentos y dos recordatorios de 24 horas en dos d\u00edas no consecutivos y dentro de un intervalo de 15 d\u00edas. Se compar\u00f3 h\u00e1bitos nutricionales entre sujeros sanos y pacientes con em y se analiz\u00f3 si la ingesta de nutrientes impactaba en la cl\u00ednica de la enfermedad. resultados:  los sujetos con em consum\u00edan m\u00e1s dieta mediterr\u00e1nea, que los sujetos sin em: or: (1.17-5.44), menos \u00e1cidos grasos poliinsaturados (agpi) : or 0.37 (0.20-0.68)  y menos vitamina a : or0.33(0.16-0.70) y vitamina c: or 0.42 (0.20-0.88). Los pacientes con m\u00e1s reca\u00eddas consum\u00edan menos legunbres or 0.16 (0.02-1.04), menos frutos secos =r 0.01 (0.00-0.30); menos agpi or 0.11 (0.01-0.99) y menos vitamina a or 0.01(0.00-0.18). conclusiones:  los sujetos con em mostraron h\u00e1bitos alimentarios m\u00e1s saludables, sin embargo los que consum\u00edan menos agpi y menos vitaminas a  y c ten\u00edan una peor
