La anotaci\u00f3n, en correspondencia con algunos de los apartados de la introducci\u00f3n, se centra principalmente en destacar el componente reformista de la obra de li\u00f1\u00e1n y verdugo; sin embargo, no se ha renunciado a utilizar otro tipo de textos coet\u00e1neos de car\u00e1cter puramente literario para situar el texto en sus coordenadas temporales. El primer apartado de la introducci\u00f3n analiza la recepci\u00f3n editorial del texto; en el plano interpretativo, resaltan dos asuntos: el costumbrismo y la ociosidad. Se explica la clara tangente que se divisa entre la gu\u00eda y avisos de forasteros (1620), las harp\u00edas en Madrid (1631). Los peligros de Madrid (1646) y los d\u00edas de fiesta de zabaleta (1654 y 1660), obras que jalonan las d\u00e9cadas m\u00e1s importantes de la narrativa del xvii y dan pie a un nuevo g\u00e9nero: el costumbrismo. Sobre el tema de la ociosidad, el autor de esta tesis abunda en el que es el verdadero leit-motiv de la obra de li\u00f1\u00e1n: los da\u00f1os de la ociosidad y la necesidad de remediar la plaga de gente de mal vivir que perjudica la imagen de una rep\u00fablica cristiana. En esta tesis, que se distancia interpretativamente de otras interpretaciones, la obra de li\u00f1\u00e1n es situada en el punto de intersecci\u00f3n entre el di\u00e1logo (avisos) y la novela (escarmientos), entendi\u00e9ndose la estructura planteada por li\u00f1\u00e1n como una sugerente propuesta que imbrica sin fisuras la consigna horaciana que aparece como reclamo en la portada de la
