Este sistema bajo condiciones neuroinflamatorias experimenta profundos  cambios, que afectan de forma diferencial a los receptores cb1 y cb2, y la enzima faah, como se desprende de los resultados obtenidos en la encefalopat\u00eda por vih y en esclerosis m\u00faltiple. Estos cambios sugieren un desplazamiento de la influencia del  sce sobre procesos neuronales en condiciones fisiol\u00f3gicas hacia una modulaci\u00f3n de la actividad glial en condiciones patol\u00f3gicas. Por otra parte, la ausencia de la faah mediante delecci\u00f3n g\u00e9nica, y el consiguiente aumento de los niveles de endocannab inoides modifica la respuesta astrocitaria frente al p\u00e9ptido b-amiloide. Los astrocitos carentes de faah son m\u00e1s sensibles a la forma patog\u00e9nica del p\u00e9ptido b-amiloide posiblemente debido a la potenciaci\u00f3n de cascadas de se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n (erk1\/2, p38 map k, nfkb) y a un descenso en los niveles de expresi\u00f3n de ppar-a y ppar-g. Sin embargo, la delecci\u00f3n g\u00e9nica de faah modifica la respuesta glial frente a la prote\u00edna viral tat disminuyendo la reacci\u00f3n inflamatoria. Por tanto la potenciaci\u00f3n del tono end ocannabinoide parece inducir respuestas diferentes en las c\u00e9lulas gliales en funci\u00f3n del tipo de est\u00edmulo inflamatorio y\/o del tipo de
