Queda definida la escatolog\u00eda que defiende el escritor durante ese decenio, su actitud ante el dogma religioso y cientifico, y el efecto de su filosofia en el ejercicio literario. Se detectan con precision los primeros indicios de su teoria de los ciclos historicos, su reaccion al esteticismo pateriano y la aparicion del influjo de nietzsche. Quedan determinados pormenorizadamente los diferentes estadios que atraviesa yeats en el abandono de las formas prerrafaelistas evolucionadas influidas por el simbolismo en lengua francesa, y los pasos en la modelacion de un nuevo estilo, tanto en el teatro como en la poesia, hasta 1914; y se registran los momentos principales del movimiento dramatico irlandes y de los a\u00f1os iniciales del abbey theatre. En cada uno de los particulares anteriores se establece de manera precisa la aportacion de synge, distinguiendola de la ayuda que recibe yeats de lady gregory. Se profundiza en la reaccion de yeats a la obra de synge y en la mitificacion que de el hace tras su muerte, cuestion en la que se tiene en cuenta la formulacion de la doctrina de la mascara. Se sigue una metodolog\u00eda de riguroso avance cronologico, en el que se va atendiendo sucesivamente a todas las obras que componen yeats y synge en el periodo
