The incorporaton  of coastal response to storm events in this framework is a basic part of this proposal. This  methodological framework was aplied to the  ebro delta. in terms of the long term scale, the relatve sea level rise is  the main process that can cause  important changes in low-lying  coastal areas, such as ebro delta. Three possible scenarios of  sea level rise were reproduced to determine potentally food areas considering the paper of  the inner structures &#8211; like channels, docks and highways &#8211; in the foods preventon.  the extreme\/episodic scenario is associated to  processes that have very large return periods  and do not exhibit a periodicity in the tme. Flood areas associated to coastal storms with return  periods of 10, 50, 100 and 500 years were identfed. For this aim, the coastal morphodynamic  response and the backbeach food distributon were studied.  additonally, an evaluaton of the lost and damages associated to  food was carry out. For this  study, the values of the ecological services of the ecosystem were used.
