Su desarrollo pr\u00e1ctico y la aplicaci\u00f3n a problemas reales se retras\u00f3 debido al problema computacional asociado, ya que las ecuaciones pod\u00edan hacerse relativamente grandes y las t\u00e9cnicas de resoluci\u00f3n necesitaban de un nivel de computaci\u00f3n mayor al prestado en su momento por los ordenadores de la \u00e9poca.  en \u00e9ste trabajo se desarrollan, estudian y comparan algoritmos para la resoluci\u00f3n de modelos de ecuaciones simult\u00e1neas tanto en secuencial como en paralelo, utilizando diferentes estimadores. Adem\u00e1s se estudia la utilizaci\u00f3n de descomposiciones matriciales (la descomposici\u00f3n de la matriz inversa y la descomposici\u00f3n qr) para acelerar los algoritmos b\u00e1sicos en secuencial, desarroll\u00e1ndose tambi\u00e9n versiones paralelas (tanto en memoria compartida como distribuida).  tambi\u00e9n se da respuesta a otra carencia encontrada en el software desarrollado hasta ahora, la de una herramienta capaz de encontrar un modelo de ecuaciones simult\u00e1neas eficiente a partir de un conjunto de datos de variables. Dado que se tiene una necesidad computacional muy grande debido a lo extenso del espacio de soluciones donde se debe buscar el mejor modelo, se evitan m\u00e9todos de b\u00fasqueda exhaustiva
