Estas reacciones producen una mezcla de dos cicloaductos que se convierten en 4,5-dihidrotiofenos, de forma regioespecifico y con alta selectividad facial. Los analisis de rmn y los experimentos de atrapamiento con los cicloaductos revelan el caracter reversible de estas cicloadiones. Tambien se ha estudiado la reaccion de las mismas nitroolefinas con munchnonas, produciendo pirroles. Las estructuras de los productos han sido determinadas por analisis de difraccion de rayos x de monocrital.
