Resultados previos demostraron que las acciones del tungstato depend\u00edan de la v\u00eda de la leptina.  en base a estos resultados investigamos las dianas moleculares del tungstato sobre el snc, en concreto a hipot\u00e1lamo y en relaci\u00f3n con la v\u00eda de la leptina. Los resultados obtenidos mostraron que el tungstato tiene efectos directos sobre el cerebro, disminuiendo el peso corporal y la ingesta de los animales tratados. Tambien se observ\u00f3 que el tratamiento con tungstato activa la v\u00eda de se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n de la leptina, incrementando la fosforilaci\u00f3n de las prote\u00ednas downstream de esta v\u00eda, y regulando la expresi\u00f3n g\u00e9nica de los principales genes diana.  finalmente, un estudio prote\u00f3mico de los nucleos arcuato, paraventricular y lateral del hipot\u00e1lamo, comparando animales delgados y obesos, tratados o no con tungstato de sodio, revel\u00f3 que esta mol\u00e9cula puede tener un papel importante en la plasticidad neuronal y el crecimiento
