Esta mejora consiste en aplicar t\u00e9cnicas de redundancia y asistencia sobre los procesos de monitorizaci\u00f3n y control realizados por las entidades de la operaci\u00f3n ferroviaria susceptibles de fallo. El desarrollo de estas t\u00e9cnicas ha exigido un estudio previo para la realizaci\u00f3n de una infraestructura de tecnolog\u00edas de informaci\u00f3n y comunicaci\u00f3n adecuada a los condicionantes ferroviarios. Posteriormente, se han ideado tres soluciones telem\u00e1ticas para implementar dichas t\u00e9cnicas: el sistema de informaci\u00f3n al maquinista, la biblioteca electr\u00f3nica embarcada y el bloqueo v\u00eda radio asistido por posicionamiento. Las soluciones y la infraestructura propuestas han sido validadas y verificadas con respecto al objetivo principal de esta tesis en casos de uso reales.  palabras clave: railways, safety, ict,
