Sin embargo, estos materiales son generalmente fr\u00e1giles, debido al alto nivel de entrecruzamiento alcanzado despu\u00e9s de curado. Estos materiales han sido modificados con cauchos o termopl\u00e1sticos para mejorar su resistencia a la fractura, no obstante con estos modificadores es dif\u00edcil el control sobre la morfolog\u00eda. En este sentido, una tendencia reciente es la incorporaci\u00f3n de copol\u00edmeros de bloque capaces de auto-ensamblarse para obtener diferentes morfolog\u00edas a nano o microescala. Estudios previos han demostrado que la adici\u00f3n de copol\u00edmeros de bloque a una matriz termoestable puede resultar en la obtenci\u00f3n de materiales nanoestructurados con propiedades mec\u00e1nicas mejoradas. Para este prop\u00f3sito, el copol\u00edmero de bloque debe ser anfif\u00edlico en el sentido de que uno de los bloques sea miscible (epoxif\u00edlico) y otro bloque inmiscible (epoxif\u00f3bico) con la resina epoxi. Otra v\u00eda es por compatibilizaci\u00f3n qu\u00edmica, a trav\u00e9s de la incorporaci\u00f3n de grupos reactivos en uno de los bloques con el objeto de generar interacciones qu\u00edmicas entre dicho bloque y la resina epoxi. No obstante, la adici\u00f3n de copol\u00edmeros de bloque puede resultar en una reducci\u00f3n de otras propiedades, como la rigidez de la matriz epoxi.
