Esta tesis investiga el comportamiento informacional de los estudiantes de una universidad a distancia (universitat oberta de catalunya) teniendo en cuenta el \u00e1mbito acad\u00e9mico, pero tambi\u00e9n el profesional y de la vida diaria. A su vez centra el inter\u00e9s en el acceso a la informaci\u00f3n, pero tambi\u00e9n en la gesti\u00f3n y el uso, combinando estrategias metodol\u00f3gicas m\u00faltiples, tanto cuantitativas como cualitativas. la tesis se presenta como una compilaci\u00f3n de 4 publicaciones acad\u00e9micas. El primer art\u00edculo define los elementos para construir una biblioteca personalizada integrada en un entorno virtual de aprendizaje a partir de la aplicaci\u00f3n de la metodolog\u00eda de dise\u00f1o de ontolog\u00edas y de la realizaci\u00f3n de focus groups. El segundo art\u00edculo presenta diferentes experimentos realizados en un entorno virtual de aprendizaje para poder proponer un marco para analizar el uso de los contenidos con el objetivo de extraer informaci\u00f3n \u00fatil para mejorar la calidad de los metadatos utilizados para describir estos objetos de aprendizaje, pero tambi\u00e9n para personalizar. La metodolog\u00eda utilizada es cuantitativa a partir del an\u00e1lisis de los logs generados por los servidores del campus virtual a partir de las interacciones de 350 estudiantes con los recursos de aprendizaje accesibles des de dos aulas virtuales. En el tercer y cuarto art\u00edculo se utiliza una metodolog\u00eda cualitativa (entrevista y an\u00e1lisis de contenido) para proponer un modelo anal\u00edtico de patrones de comportamiento
