Esta investigaci\u00f3n propone un enfoque alternativo para la resoluci\u00f3n de problemas de impactos bal\u00edsticos sobre diversos materiales, la aplicaci\u00f3n de soluciones conexionistas basadas en el aprendizaje autom\u00e1tico. El objetivo final es encontrar el modelo neuronal que mejor se ajuste a cada uno de los escenarios estudiados, maximizando  la informaci\u00f3n disponible, simplificando su arquitectura y optimizando el aprendizaje. Para lograrlo, se propone un proceso de ajuste del rendimiento para un perceptr\u00f3n multicapa basado en una metodolog\u00eda de cuatro fases.  Estas fases incluyen una combinaci\u00f3n de heur\u00edsticas para mejorar el rendimiento, el empleo de t\u00e9cnicas estad\u00edsticas para validar los resultados y m\u00e9tricas de calidad, basadas en la teor\u00eda de la informaci\u00f3n, para medir el ajuste de los datos con respecto a su complejidad. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que la aplicaci\u00f3n de la metodolog\u00eda de optimizaci\u00f3n planteada, permite una mejora en el rendimiento y en la eficiencia de un perceptr\u00f3n multicapa
