Estas se\u00f1ales son percibidas por el hongo y procesadas por las rutas de transducci\u00f3n de se\u00f1ales que ponen en funcionamiento la maquinaria g\u00e9nica necesaria para el proceso de patog\u00e9nesis. Las cascadas de prote\u00ednas quinasas activadas por mit\u00f3genos (cascadas mapk) son rutas de traducci\u00f3n de se\u00f1ales altamente conservadas en organismos eucariotas. Se caracterizan por un tener m\u00f3dulo central de tres prote\u00ednas quinasas secuenciales, una mapkkk activadora de una mapkk, que a su vez activa la \u00faltima mapk del m\u00f3dulo, fosforilando los residuos conservados tirosina y treonina. Actualmente se desconoce en gran parte la naturaleza de las se\u00f1ales que participan en la activaci\u00f3n de estas rutas y de los procesos que median el reconocimiento de dichas se\u00f1ales durante la infecci\u00f3n. En f. Oxysporum, la ruta de la mapk fmk1 es ort\u00f3loga a la ruta kss1 de levadura y regula la infecci\u00f3n de la planta en f. Oxysporum. Los mutantes fmk1 son incapaces de infectar la planta de tomate la cual permanece sin s\u00edntomas de marchitez vascular frente a las plantas infectadas por la cepa silvestre que comienzan a mostrar s\u00edntomas a los 10 d\u00edas tras la infecci\u00f3n y mueren aproximadamente 20 d\u00edas despu\u00e9s. Hasta ahora se desconoce cu\u00e1les son los receptores que regulan esta ruta mapk de virulencia. Basados en la evidencia aportada por los estudios en la levadura, nos planteamos si prote\u00ednas receptoras de tipo mucina podr\u00edan estar regulando la ruta fmk1 a nivel en f. Oxsyporum. Para abordar esta hip\u00f3tesis, se identific\u00f3 en f. Oxysporum una posible prote\u00edna ort\u00f3loga de msb2 de levadura mediante b\u00fasqueda por homolog\u00eda de secuencia y an\u00e1lisis de predicci\u00f3n bioinform\u00e1tica. Una vez seleccionado el gen candidato, se generaron mutantes por eliminaci\u00f3n del gen en la cepa silvestre y en la cepa carente de la mapk fmk1. Nuestro trabajo confirma la hip\u00f3tesis de msb2 como componente aguas arriba de la ruta mapk fmk1 en f. Oxysporum, directamente implicado en la fosforilaci\u00f3n de fmk1 y la regulaci\u00f3n de la patog\u00e9nesis. Los resultados obtenidos adem\u00e1s sugieren que msb2 y fmk1 tienen papeles independientes pero coordinados en la regulaci\u00f3n de otras funciones celulares, como la respuesta a estr\u00e9s de
