El objetivo es contribuir a mejorar y ampliar las aplicaciones anal\u00edticas de la espectrometr\u00eda de masas con ionizaci\u00f3n l\u00e1ser mediante una profundizaci\u00f3n en el conocimiento que se tiene de los procesos temporales y los umbrales energ\u00e9ticos necesarios para formar iones a partir de la acci\u00f3n de un pulso l\u00e1ser sobre una fase condensada.La primera parte de la memoria ayuda a situar el trabajo experimental en su contexto cient\u00edfico, describiendo y valorando algunas t\u00e9cnicas anal\u00edticos utilizadas en estudios similares y realizando una revisi\u00f3n de los modelos te\u00f3ricos disponibles en la actualidad para la comprensi\u00f3n de la interacci\u00f3n l\u00e1ser-materia. En el plano experimental, este conocimiento se ha desarrollado mediante la realizaci\u00f3n de experimentos de c\u00e1lculos de umbrales de formaci\u00f3n de iones y de formaci\u00f3n de plasma sobre diversas muestras. Los experimentos realizados incluyen: experimentos simult\u00e1neos lims-lips para la determinaci\u00f3n simult\u00e1nea de los umbrales de ionizaci\u00f3n y de formaci\u00f3n de plasmas para muestras met\u00e1licas monoelementales; un estudio de c\u00e1lculo de umbrales en muestras met\u00e1licas complejas, prestando atenci\u00f3n al efecto que la matriz tiene sobre los umbrales de ionizaci\u00f3n de un elemento dado; c\u00e1lculo de umbrales de ionizaci\u00f3n utilizando una configuraci\u00f3n de doble pulso (pump-probe) en la que dos pulsos de fluencia subumbral (incapaces de formar iones) inciden de forma secuencial sobre la muestra, de forma que el an\u00e1lisis sea posible; aplicaci\u00f3n de todo el conocimiento adquirido en los experimentos anteriores al an\u00e1lisis de compuestos org\u00e1nicos altamente energ\u00e9ticos en fase s\u00f3lida, obteni\u00e9ndose informaci\u00f3n at\u00f3mica y molecular de estos compuestos con el mismo sistema experimental; una \u00faltima secci\u00f3n experimental describe la combinaci\u00f3n de un equipo de la-icp-ms a una etapa de campo cercano (near-field) como las utilizadas en microscop\u00edas de alta resoluci\u00f3n (afm, snom), de forma que pueda confinarse el efecto de la radiaci\u00f3n l\u00e1ser sobre un \u00e1rea menor al \u00e1rea en el que se podr\u00eda confinar la radiaci\u00f3n siguiendo las leyes de difracci\u00f3n (l\u00edmite de difracci\u00f3n) y desarrollando las primeras etapas que deber\u00e1n desembocar, en el futuro, en la posibilidad de un an\u00e1lisis qu\u00edmico directo de muestras s\u00f3lidas con
